Software Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Maintain and further develop existing Visual Basic 6 applications, ensuring high code quality.
• Optimize legacy systems by integrating them with modern technologies like cloud platforms and current databases.
• Act as the primary point of contact for error analysis, debugging, and migrating historical software to new platforms.
• Work with source control tools such as Git or SVN and support DevOps teams in automation and CI/CD projects.
• Communicate projects, requirements, and solutions effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

What You'll Need

• Several years of experience in Visual Basic 6 development and relational databases, with knowledge of DevOps and cloud technologies.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable technical field with excellent academic performance.
• In-depth expertise in VB6, SQL Server, and source control (Git, SVN), with additional experience in automation, cloud platforms, and containerization being a plus.
• Fluency in both German and English.
• Strong problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, a willingness to learn, and adaptability.
