About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal AI Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development of AI-driven capabilities within our enterprise platform, turning innovative AI visions into secure, reliable, and scalable product features. This is a hands-on, technical leadership position that demands expertise in designing, coding, testing, and deploying complex AI solutions.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product management, security, architecture, and customer success—to translate customer needs into practical AI applications. Your work will directly impact how enterprises leverage AI to deliver proactive, efficient, and trustworthy service management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building production-level large language models (LLMs), agentic systems, and data-intensive applications. You will own end-to-end AI capabilities, from problem discovery and technical design to deployment and continuous improvement. Your expertise will help establish best practices, reusable components, and scalable architectures that support our enterprise AI initiatives.

Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent impact in senior/principal roles within production product development.
- Proven track record of shipping and maintaining customer-facing software solutions.
- Professional proficiency in Python and strong skills in at least one product engineering language such as C#, TypeScript, or Java.
- Hands-on experience developing production-grade LLM or agentic applications, including retrieval and grounding, embeddings, structured outputs, tool calling, and state management.
- Experience working with data-intensive systems, APIs, event streams, data transformation, quality assurance, and operational observability.
- Strong system design fundamentals for cloud-native, distributed, API-first SaaS products, with an emphasis on security, reliability, and performance.
- Practical knowledge of evaluating AI systems through datasets, telemetry, automated testing, and production monitoring.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and work effectively across teams and with customers.
- Degree in computer science, software engineering, AI/ML, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Own the development and lifecycle management of selected AI capabilities, from initial problem discovery to deployment and ongoing optimization.
- Write, review, and maintain production code across AI services, APIs, connectors, data pipelines, and product interfaces.
- Design and implement agentic systems that are simple, robust, and scalable, incorporating retrieval, grounding, structured outputs, and fallback mechanisms.
- Translate customer needs into detailed platform requirements, ensuring AI results are trustworthy through proper data handling, governance, and observability.
- Build early prototypes and validate them within real workflows, iteratively evolving successful solutions into secure, maintainable enterprise features.
- Integrate evaluation and quality assurance into engineering processes, utilizing datasets, telemetry, automated tests, and human reviews.
- Implement security and trust measures such as tenant isolation, role-based access, auditability, prompt-injection defenses, and safe rollback procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to turn customer problems into measurable outcomes, contribute reusable libraries, and promote best practices in applied AI engineering.
