Software Engineer
TaskVerseStellenbeschreibung
About The Company The Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG) serves as the university computing center for the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and acts as a comprehensive IT and computing competence center for the Max Planck Society. With over four decades of experience, GWDG has established itself as a leader in providing high-performance computing infrastructure and services to support cutting-edge research across various scientific disciplines.
The organization is a key player in national and international research initiatives, including operating the National High-Performance Computing (NHR) network and managing specialized centers such as the AI service center KISSKI and the Quantum Computing (QUICS) project. Additionally, GWDG offers advanced HPC resources to institutions like the German Aerospace Center (DLR), facilitating scientific advancements in fields ranging from digital humanities to earth system science and engineering. As a national supercomputing hub, GWDG emphasizes secure, reliable, and innovative solutions to empower researchers and industry partners alike.
About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Quantum Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join our interdisciplinary HPC team at GWDG, focusing on the development of quantum computing applications tailored for anomaly detection in industrial settings. This full-time position (39 hours per week) is funded through the GWDG QC project, which extends until October 2029.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building and enhancing GWDG's quantum computing ecosystem, with a particular emphasis on creating a platform that integrates quantum algorithms into practical industry use cases. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining containerized solutions, ensuring high standards of software architecture, security, and performance. As part of our team, you will collaborate with researchers, industry partners, and other stakeholders to develop innovative tools that leverage quantum computing for real-world applications.
The position requires a strong commitment to security, especially given the sensitive nature of data handled by GWDG, and the ability to verify code manually without AI assistance during interviews.
