Staff Software Engineer, Data Platform

What You Will Do

• Design and operate real-time streaming: low-latency transport, multimodal time synchronisation, network/5G-aware delivery.
• Build batch streaming data pipelines feeding distributed model training.
• Data modelling and storage for multimodal robot episodes (video, proprioception, control); schema and dataset versioning.
• Reliability, back pressure and throughput; collaborate with the Robotics/AIleadon the dataset contract.

What You Will Bring

• Proven track record building scalable distributed systems in production
• Strong software-engineering fundamentals and experience building data infrastructure.
• A data/ networking wizard: deep on latency, real-time transport (WebRTC / RTP /gRPC/ QUIC), and time synchronisation across streams.
• Strong data engineering across streaming and batch (e.g. Kafka/Redpanda, Flink/Spark, object storage).
• Strong systems coding: Python plus a systems language (C / Rust / Go).
• Edge⇄cloud architectures, 5G, real-time video pipelines.
• High levelof ownership, pragmatic system thinking, cross-functional communication, affinity for real-world chaos and unpredictable data

Nice-to-have

• Robotics data: ROS,LeRobot, MCAP, multimodal sensor streams.
• MLOps: feature stores, data versioning (LakeFS, DVC).
• Hard real-time systems experience.
