Technical Program Manager (f/m/d) - Developer Experience

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

As a key contributor to the Developer Experience (DX) program, this role supports the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives that enhance development productivity for all people in development roles at SAP. You’ll coordinate cross-functional initiatives, manage timelines and risks, and facilitate stakeholder communication and engagement across Product & Engineering, Business AI and Business Operations. From supporting the adoption of standard tools like Hyperspace and SAP Jira to organizing enablement formats such as hackathons and workshops, you’ll play a vital role in shaping a seamless development environment that supports our AI-first and Suite-first product strategy.

Ideal candidates bring development background, strong program management skills, a user-centric mindset, and a genuine passion for continuous improvement of developer experience through data-driven insights.

Your tasks include but are not limited to the following:

Program Support & Coordination

• Manage end-to-end delivery of Developer Experience program initiatives, including development AI enablement, tooling harmonization, and developer insights
• Maintain DX program executive reporting, initiative charters, success metrics (e.g., DORA/Flow), timelines and strategic themes such as development AI adoption and usage, Hyperspace adoption, and technical debt management.
• Automate and improve program execution and reporting using data science and AI

Project Execution & Coordination

• Support project leads in coordinating cross-functional teams and tracking deliverables to reach key DX milestones.
• Orchestrate timelines, highlight dependencies, risks, and ensure mitigations measures are in place across multiple workstreams.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Facilitate communication between DX stakeholder groups including Engineering, Product Management, User Experience Design, Business Operations, and more.
• Prepare updates and summaries, including executive reporting, for leadership and team members.

Change Management & Enablement

• Assist in the rollout of new tools and standards (e.g., dev AI tools, SAP Jira consolidation, Hyperspace iQ,etc.).
• Organize enablement formats such as hackathons, success stories, SharePoint learning hubs, and workshops.

Continuous Improvement

• Collect and summarize developer feedback from surveys, interviews, and other feedback channels.
• Support the team in translating insights into actionable improvements and track progress against KPIs.

YOUR PROFILE

• Development background and genuine passion for data-driven continuous improvement
• Programming and data science experience e.g. using Python or other languages
• Coordination and program management skills: Proven experience in project/program management within software engineering or developer tooling environments.
• Conceptual skills: Strong understanding of Developer Experience principles, cloud-native development, and AI tooling.
• Understanding and familiarity with development frameworks like DORA, Flow Metrics, and agile delivery at scale.
• Content Creation Skills: Ability to consolidate and present complex content for engineering, product design and product management colleagues.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including stakeholder management.
• Strong Facilitation Skills: Ability to lead workshops, meetings, and discussions effectively to drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Problem-Solving Orientation: Focused on solving real customer and business problems with high-quality solutions.
• User-Centric Mindset: Empathy and understanding of user needs in AI-related development
• Continuous Learner: Commitment to staying updated on the latest industry trends and good practices in discovery, software development, product design, and product management.

The Developer

Experience (DX) Team within P&EO is driving development productivity and satisfaction of people in development roles. The DX program together with other central teams aims to create an industry-leading workplace environment fostering continuous value delivery to internal and external customers and productivity in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, and well-being. This role will include a lot of collaboration with Application Foundation, BTP, and CPIT teams as well as Business AI /oCTO as some of the main stakeholders.
