Role Description The appointed Technical Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all contracted project-related activities within the GmbH region. This role ensures excellence in customer engagement, partner relationship management, and project execution. The focus will be on delivering high-quality coordination between SOLiD-appointed partners and SOLiD end customers.
Including activities such as site design, reporting, equipment commissioning, H&S compliance and as-built documentation.
This role demands a strong, results-oriented mindset, along with exceptional leadership and management capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of radio standards and regulatory compliance, combined with a proven track record of successfully delivering bespoke, high-demand projects in complex environments such as buildings, tunnels, and stadia.
Required Skills & Experience:
1. Technical Skills
- In-Building RF Design: Proficiency in designing Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), O-RAN fronthaul architectures, small cells, and repeater-based solutions.
- RF Planning Tools: Expertise in tools such as iBwave or Ranplan.
- Propagation and Simulation: Deep understanding of RF propagation, link budgets, path loss models, and indoor coverage prediction.
- Wireless Technologies: Knowledge of 2G/3G/4G/5G NR, PPDR and FRMCS.
- Testing & Optimisation Tools: Use of scanners, spectrum analysers, and post-processing tools like TEMS or Nemo
- Project Planning: Ability to plan, schedule, and manage end-to-end in-building projects without supervision or consultation with peers.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Experience working with MNOs, OEMs, contractors, and venue owners.
- Budget & Cost Control: Estimating project costs and managing financial performance.
- Team Leadership: Strong project and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and guide the priorities and deliverables. Previous experience in managing technical activities and subcontractors/partners.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and client presentations. Ability to interface with senior stakeholders at a technical, managerial, and commercial level.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to provide technical leadership and training to internal teams and external customers.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with ETSI/3GPP regulations, EN/CE/ECC Standards and public safety DAS requirements.
- Carrier Requirements: Understanding carrier-specific design and approval processes (e.g., Telefonica, Vodafone Global, T-Mobile, BTEE, Bouygues, Orange, Free).
