Anusha Suresh

I am a Data Engineer with three years of experience, and a total of five, being a Software Engineer. In my tenure as a Data Enginer, I have collaborated closely with stakeholders, translated their business requirements to technical ones, and gotten my hands dirty on implementation of data pipelines (all stages of ELT, with T being my favourite). I have been involved in setting up a data platform for a business that was just getting started and for an organisation that is well established.

Having seen the nascent stages of a data platform as well as some complex legacy systems that failed to scale, I have learned numerous lessons on technical debt, scalability and good software engineering practices. I have experience working on the AWS Cloud suite, Snowflake, DBT and find myself very comfortable with Python. I also have dabbled a little in Apache Flink and Spark.

Clariness provides recruitment services for clinical trials. Data associated with these is made available to the stakeholders, and I was responsible for the modelling and engineering of the data platform, and writing the transformation pipelines. Additionally, I often negotiated data contracts and set up standard points of ingestion and standardised reporting systems.

Blinkist / Data Engineer

August 2021 - July 2022

Since its inception, Blinkist had accumulated a lot of legacy data infrastructure that did not scale well in the current days. I was involved in projects that sought to redesign the Data Warehouse, replace the data stack and the ETL pipelines.

Affine Analytics Pvt Ltd / Data Engineer

February 2020 - July 2021

I worked on designing and building data platforms, from scratch. I interfaced with clients, analysed business requirements, translated them to technical requirements, designed and programmed custom data pipelines and ELT’s.

In addition to this, I was also responsible for delegation of tasks, conducting code reviews and grooming of junior engineers.
