I am a Master’s student in medical photonics at Friedrich schiller university, Jena, Germany. I have a background in Chemistry as my bachelor’s degree. In my bachelor’s, my main subjects were “ Spectroscopy”, Physical chemistry”, “Analytical Chemistry” and “Quantum Mechanics".
My immense affinity for optics and spectroscopy drives me to switch my future toward medical photonics. This course provides me with basic skills in “Statistics”, “Imaging and Image Processing”, “Mathematics”, “Physical optics”, “Optical Engineering” and “Human Biology”. Additionally from this course, I can focus more depth on special topics such as “Microscopy” which makes me know more about various microscopic techniques such as Optical microscopy, Structured illumination (SIM) microscopy, Single-molecule localization microscopy, Stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscopy Introduction into electron microscopic techniques such as Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Electron microprobe analysis, Correlative light, and electron microscopy, Introduction into atomic force microscopy, etc. and “Lasers In Medicine” where I got introduced to the basic mechanisms of laser-tissue interactions, different laser technologies and their application in different fields of clinical medicine and diagnostics.
And I have a basic experience in basic optical phenomena, optical elements, laser fundamentals, with a special focus on light-matter interaction techniques such as UV/Vis-absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, and vibrational spectroscopy and a basic knowledge in software such as Gauss view and origin lab.
Additionally, I have a good command of the English language. I am a beginner in the German language. With my strong determination toward the goal, I am much more confident that I can be an asset to your team. I am also sure that my immense curiosity to know more about optics and photonics, high motivation, diligence, collegiality, open-mindedness, goal-oriented, and enthusiasm in this field will help me to do this efficiently.
