I have been involved with research projects that studied a wide variety of animals such as crustaceans, reptiles, gastropods, and birds. During my tenure as an undergrad and a grad student, I learned about all aspects of wildlife ecology. I dedicated myself to getting hands on experience with as many animals as I could to take on new challenges and add to my skill set. My current job at Florida Fish and Wildlife has added a great deal of knowledge and experience.
At my core, I am a very enthusiastic person. I enjoy meeting new people with a positive attitude, building connections, and broadening my horizons to new opportunities.
As the Biologist for Holey Land and Rotenberger Wildlife Management Areas, I perform vegetation and wildlife surveys for my areas using off-road vehicles and airboats. I also participate in state-sponsored hunting activities for game species such as white-tailed deer and waterfowl. I prepare datasheets, submit harvest data, and work with hunters and stakeholders on their concerns and resolve them with a positive attitude.
I earned my master's degree from Lund University in Sweden where I completed my thesis studying rural and urban survival of passerines in southern Sweden.
