As a biomolecular engineer, driven by my academic background and professional experience, I am convinced of the impact of innovative manufacturing in life sciences to genuinely improve the world.
My passion for natural sciences, cultures and languages was always supported by my Burkinabé mother and Austrian father. I’ve been travelling since a young age, which sparked my interest to see the world and study and work internationally. With my career goal to participate in solving humanity’s problems, I chose to study biomolecular engineering at the TU Darmstadt, which is renowned for engineering and natural sciences.
This enabled me to cooperate on projects with many students from different fields of study. Contributing then to the innovative firm BioNTech SE extended this experience and fulfilled my ambition to work practically in biotech. After this turbulent but rewarding time, 2022 I moved to Thailand to engage with its fascinating culture.
At BioNTech, as well as during the Bachelor studies, I gained hands-on experience in various purification methods, such as affinity chromatography, ion exchange chromatography and size exclusion chromatography. I have also formulated appropriate purification schemes according to order requirements and ensured that production is completed while adhering to strict SOPs. I possess good experimental habits, excellent data analysis, processing skills and a strong ability to solve problems.
Furthermore, I have experience in instrument management and maintenance, which I believe will be beneficial in this role. In addition to my technical skills, I am fluent in three languages and have lived in Thailand for a year. These experiences have helped me to develop strong communication and interpersonal skills, which I believe are important in a team-oriented work environment.
I worked for BioNTech before and during covid-19. In the course of the arising pressure of staff shortage and parallelly coordinated studies a higher workload in production and lab management occurred. I also became the responsible reference person for devices as the KingFisher Duo Prime and the Integra Assist Plus.
Hence, I worked closely i.a. with the engineering and research & development departments. Accurate collaboration with the management was required to find efficient solutions, hereof I processed several tasks in deviation and change management. Such tasks entail i.a. risk analyses and process documentation.
All superiors were highly satisfied with my independent work habit while being a cooperative and reliable team player.
