Nimesh Visram

As a Senior UX/UI designer, I live for variety. For more than 14 years, I have found energy and purpose in pivoting between diverse projects, products, and teams—often within a single day—to develop beautiful, user-driven designs. Combining my keen aesthetic sense, love of collaboration, and passion for generating new ideas, I create websites, apps, and information design pieces that resonate with users across industries.

Being Leicester-born, London-trained, and Berlin-based, I have worked with clients and companies ranging from startups to multinational conglomerates. Currently, I serve as the Senior UX/UI Designer at Kuelap, a lending platform for micro, small, and medium-sized businesses in developing economies worldwide. Drawing on my background in finance, I lead the research and design of the startup’s core banking system, traveling regularly to microfinance cooperatives in Indonesia and Kenya to meet with employers and translate their feedback into dynamic product ideas.

In addition to my role at Kuelap, I also steer the research, prototyping, and brand redesign of Sporttotal.tv, one of Europe’s leading multi-sports streaming platforms. As the company’s Senior UX/UI Designer, I oversee the design of its websites and online, streaming, and mobile apps to ensure a flawless viewer experience across devices.

Previously, as a freelance UX designer, I consulted with startup founders to execute their design visions in line with their business goals. Prior to freelancing, I co-founded Symbol Design Associates, an agency specializing in 3D visualizations for architecture developers. This entrepreneurial experience was a formative one; the user-focused client presentations I crafted and delivered gave me the design bug that kickstarted my career in UX.

After moving from London to Berlin in 2017, I completed CareerFoundry’s User Experience & User Interface Design program and have stayed with the online school as a design tutor. For me, mentoring students is a two-way street and a rewarding process; I share valuable insight with up-and-coming designers and in turn, gain a window into the ever-changing world of design, enabling me to hone my craft and expand my skills.

I hold my Bachelor of Arts in International Finance & Economics from London Guildhall University. Outside of work, family is my priority; I'm a self-described foodie, and I spend my time dining and traveling with my wife and young son, enjoying all Berlin has to offer.
