Community Services Worker Intern at Community or Social Service Agency/Organization

8-week internship placement involving practical application of knowledge and skills in community service settings. Students work with professionals in roles such as Neighbourhood Worker, Child Abuse Worker, Crisis Intervention Counselor, Mental Health Aide, Group Home Worker, or Drug Abuse Counselor.

• Participate in orientation activities and familiarize with agency policies and procedures
• Work assigned internship hours (minimum 200 hours over 8 weeks)
• Identify and communicate learning needs in conjunction with supervisor
• Apply classroom learning to practice within the internship setting
• Maintain confidentiality and act ethically within legal constraints
• Demonstrate skills in client interaction, community services knowledge, workplace reasoning, and documentation
• Participate in feedback discussions and formal evaluation sessions
