Software Engineer - (Java)
Jobbeskrivelse
About Finalto
Finalto is a trusted provider in the over-the-counter trading space, powering brokerages and institutional clients worldwide with liquidity from Tier 1 banks in London, New York and Singapore. Finalto’s core offering is built around a cutting-edge proprietary and real time trading platform, ClearVision.
ClearVision R&D, located in Copenhagen, is Finalto’s development hub and is responsible for the continued development and maintenance of the platform. Here, we build and support the systems that ensure trades are processed, reconciled, and reported accurately.
As the business continues to grow, we are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Trading Systems team, where you will help develop applications and services that support critical financial processes such as trade processing, reconciliation, and reporting. You will work on systems where correctness and reliability are critical, and where small details can have real financial impact.
The Team
ClearVision R&D is a dedicated engineering team working on the ClearVision trading platform, providing real-time pricing, risk management and order execution with sub-millisecond latency. The demands for precision and performance in our systems are high, and we maintain full control of our technology stack.
We work in an agile environment within a fast-paced industry. Our work environment is characterised by openness, commitment, delegated responsibility, and strong teamwork.
You will be working closely with our other engineering teams within ClearVision R&D, as well as our B2B business units in London, Singapore, Australia, Dubai and the US.
The Role
As a member of the Trading System team, you will share responsibility for the core services that power our platform, including:
· Price engines
· Risk management
· Order execution
· Algorithmic trading
Because our services are highly latency-sensitive, development goes beyond traditional application development and you must consider the interplay between software, the JVM, and the underlying hardware.
You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from idea and specification through implementation and testing to supporting solutions in production.
Within the team, we place strong emphasis on engineering quality and reliability. Quality assurance is owned by the engineering team, and we rely heavily on automated testing, peer code reviews, and shared ownership of the codebase to maintain the reliability, robustness and performance of our systems.
While the role is highly technical, it also requires understanding of the financial trading domain. In our line of business, the devil is in the detail and the stakes are high, so combining technical expertise with domain knowledge is essential.
Qualifications
We are looking for a Software Engineer with 3–5 years of experience working with Java, both as a programming language and as a platform.
The ideal candidate should have:
· Understanding of SOLID design principles
· Experience with multi-threaded and concurrent programming
· Awareness of system performance and low-level behavior
· Experience designing and maintaining automated test suites, including unit and integration tests
· Experience with peer code reviews and shared ownership of code quality
· Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments
· Background in the financial or betting industry is a plus (or a strong interest in learning)
Personal Qualities
You are a collaborative team player with strong communication skills and an analytical mindset.
You take initiative, demonstrate ownership of your work, and are proactive in solving problems. You are also service minded toward both clients and colleagues and thrive in a collaborative engineering environment.
The Workplace
You will be working in our office at Amerikakaj, Copenhagen, currently housing 30 employees of ClearVision R&D. We have an excellent lunch arrangement, free soft drinks and snacks, and enjoy social events
