Volunteer as a coding sparring partner (Java/Python)

Are you studying or working within data science, computer science, or software engineering, and interested in a meaningful volunteer role?

We are looking for a volunteer to join a one-to-one match with a young woman studying data science who is continuing her education after breaking with parts of her family due to honour-related conflict and negative social control.

She is highly motivated and currently coding in Java and Python, and is especially looking for someone to do informal Java sparring with, alongside normal conversation and occasional social meetups.

The match is part of "SIDE OM SIDE", a KVINFO volunteer programme supporting young people creating independent lives after a honor-related conflict.

The role

You will be a coding sparring partner and peer connection — not a tutor or therapist.

• *Examples of activities:**

discussing coding challenges or assignments studying together at a café or library coffee, walks, or informal conversations about studies and everyday life

Meet approx. twice per month for about one year.

Activities are financially covered by the programme.

• *We are looking for someone who:**

studies or works within tech (data science, computer science, software engineering or similar)

has experience with Java (Python is a plus)

is open to building a respectful one-to-one connection The volunteer can be Danish- or English-speaking.

Meetings take place in Amager or central Copenhagen.
