To whom it may concern.
My name is Gauti and I am a 27-year-old goldsmith and jewelry designer who was born and raised in Iceland. In my teenage years I moved to northern Sweden in order to pursue my dreams of being a semi-professional snowboarder. Quickly through this experience, I had learned that dedication and hard work can lead to incredible results.
After some years, I moved back to Reykjavik in order to develop my career in another direction - through crafts and design. Since very little age, I've been interested in anything creative and innovative. I started attending silver and goldsmith school following the set-up of my own private jewelry business.
Through it, I produced mostly custom jewelry pieces for most well-known entertainment industry personas in Iceland. This experience enriched me with knowledge of providing optimal customer service where both sides of a business deal can reach a win-win situation. Along-side owning my jewelry business, I have been working in retail and sales departments ranging from local streetwear brands to high-end fashion luxury stores.
I have obtained roles of sales assistants, sales advisors and store managers. Through all these adventures I learned how to hear, understand and assure any customers wants and needs. I have also grasped how to manage and organize stores, teams and co-workers so that everyone felt valued, comfortable and motivated in our common working environment.
I have mastered the skill of presenting merchandise in the best possible ways for it to be eye-catching and desirable customer wise. And all other retail and sales features from organizing stock rooms, taking care of shipments to analyzing day-to-day sales rates and coming up with new sales strategies.
A year ago, I came to Denmark in order to expand my views and professional opportunities. Soon upon arriving in Copenhagen I have set up a design company together with my partner and started working on my own jewelry designs. Right now, I am in a pursuit of a job that will fit my affinities towards design, innovation and fashion and develop my skills business wise.
I strongly believe I can contribute to your company, not only with my past retail and managing experience, but with my creative and problem-solving skills as well.
