Job Overview
Plan A Technologies is looking for a skilled DevOps to own and enhance our continuous integration, deployment, and infrastructure stack. In this role, you will be responsible for automating our build-and-release workflows, provisioning resilient AWS cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and managing containerized workloads in Kubernetes.
You will combine deep, low-level Linux expertise with modern automation tooling—maintaining high-availability web services, securing database systems, and establishing proactive platform monitoring to ensure zero-downtime operations.
Please note: you must have at least 6 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer to be considered for this role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- CI/CD &
- Release Automation: Design, build, and maintain robust deployment pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub, managing artifact lifecycle workflows via Nexus Artifact Server.
- Kubernetes: Provision, manage, and scale cloud infrastructure on AWS using IaC practices, while orchestrating containerized applications on Kubernetes.
- Linux: Maintain, harden, and optimize high-performance Enterprise Linux environments to guarantee platform stability and security.
- Load Balancing: Configured and managed NGINX web servers for high availability, utilizing reverse proxying, load balancing, and SSL/TLS certificate installation/termination.
- Observability: Establish proactive platform health monitoring, metrics, and alerting frameworks utilizing Zabbix.
- Scripting: Write clean, maintainable automation code using Bash and Python to streamline operational tasks and environment provisioning.
Qualifications
- 6 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
- Advanced hands-on experience in Enterprise Linux administration (system internals, networking, performance tuning, and troubleshooting).
- Proven track record with Jenkins pipeline development, GitHub workflows, and managing build dependencies with Nexus Artifact Server.
- Direct experience provisioning AWS cloud services using IaC tools (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Solid experience deploying and managing workloads in production Kubernetes clusters.
- Configured NGINX as an edge reverse proxy and load balancer with end-to-end SSL/TLS encryption.
- Managed MySQL instances, handling account permissions, backup/restore procedures, and performance monitoring.
- Practical experience setting up and configuring enterprise monitoring and alerting using Zabbix.
- Strong competency in Bash and Python for system automation and tool development.
- Independence. You do not need a PM, a Jira board, or a standing meeting to make progress.
