Job Summary

Contracts Engineers are specialists in the financial and legal administration of a project. They ensure that all contractual obligations, terms, and conditions are understood by all parties to maintain smooth construction management pipelines. They play a critical role in minimizing project risk, managing claims and change orders, and ensuring success by administering the contract from tender to closeout.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and negotiate project contracts and subcontracts
• Manage the contract administration process, including correspondence, documentation, and record-keeping
• Administer the change management process, assessing the impact of variations and issuing change orders
• Analyze and resolve contractual claims and disputes, working with legal teams as needed
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with all contract terms and conditions
• Support the procurement team in the tendering and vendor selection process
• Lead contract closeout and final account settlement negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• 8+ years of experience in contract administration or a related commercial role
• Familiarity with various contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT) widely used in large-scale projects
• Proven ability to manage change orders, claims, and disputes
• Effective negotiation and client management skills
• managing complex, mixed use projects contracts on large-scale projects ,
• Expertise in forensic delay and claims analysis
• Experience in commercial strategy development and risk management
• Ability to lead contract closeout and final account settlement negotiations
