DevOps Engineer – E-commerce Platform

DevOps Engineer – E-commerce Platform

Taqweed · Remote (Egypt) · Full-time

Own the infrastructure of a large, revenue-critical e-commerce platform in Saudi Arabia, where uptime, backups, and alerting directly protect sales.

What you'll do

• Run and evolve the infrastructure across development, staging, and production
• Own CI/CD with an auditable record of every deployment (who, when, what)
• Manage the WAF, CDN, SSL, security patching, and access control
• Run hourly backups, the disaster recovery plan, and twice-yearly restore tests
• Build 24/7 monitoring and alerting: uptime, page speed, checkout completion, payment success rate, and order flow
• Receive critical alerts out of hours, rotating with a full-stack developer

Must have

• 5+ years with Linux
• Apache, Nginx, and Docker
• Running Node.js (PM2 or containers) and PHP in production
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Bitbucket Pipelines
• MongoDB backup and restore, ideally point-in-time recovery
• Cloudflare or an equivalent WAF/CDN
• Grafana/Prometheus or Datadog, with alerts routed to on-call phones
• AWS, GCP, or Azure

Nice to have

• Terraform or other infrastructure as code; Kubernetes
• Zero-downtime migration of a live platform
• A cloud provider with a data center in Saudi Arabia
• Sentry; PCI DSS awareness

Shift

Core hours 08:00–16:00 Saudi time, Sunday–Thursday, plus out-of-hours critical alerts and Fri/Sat on-call on rotation.

Work setup

• Full-time and fully dedicated to one long-term project (12-month initial contract, renewable)
• Remote from Egypt, on Saudi working hours
• Higher load during major campaign seasons (Ramadan, Eid, Saudi National Day, White Friday, summer), announced in advance, with compensatory days off
• Fluent Arabic and English
• Personal accounts with MFA and strict confidentiality

What we offer

• Competitive salary based on experience
• Shift allowance and on-call allowance
• Remote work with an internet allowance
• A high-traffic, revenue-critical platform where your work ships every day

Please note

Start date is November 2026. The role is tied to a new project, and offers are confirmed once the project is awarded. Shortlisted candidates agree to share their CV with the client and may be interviewed by them.
