About the Role

We’re looking for an exceptional Lead AI & Full-Stack Engineer to join Owlera as a technical co-founder and long-term partner in building the company.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can take ownership of the technology behind Owlera—from architecture and full-stack development to AI systems and intelligent agents.

You’ll work directly with the founder to turn the product vision into a scalable, production-ready platform and help shape Owlera’s long-term technical direction.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and build Owlera’s web platform from frontend to backend.
• Develop scalable APIs, databases, authentication, and core platform infrastructure.
• Build polished, responsive user experiences.
• Design and integrate AI-powered features across the product.
• Build AI agents capable of using tools, data, APIs, and multi-step workflows.
• Work with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, structured outputs, and tool calling.
• Integrate third-party platforms and services.
• Own deployment, performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
• Make key technical and architectural decisions.
• Establish engineering standards and best practices.
• Help recruit and lead the future engineering team.
• Work closely with the founder on product and technology strategy.

What We’re Looking For

• 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in both frontend and backend development.
• Proven experience building and launching production web applications.
• Strong experience with technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js and/or Python.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, databases, authentication, cloud infrastructure, and system architecture.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and generative AI into real applications.
• Experience building AI agents or agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, tool/function calling, and AI evaluation.
• Experience with cloud platforms and production deployments.
• Strong understanding of scalability, security, performance, and software architecture.
• Ability to take a product from idea → architecture → development → deployment → scale.
• Startup experience is highly preferred.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re not looking for someone who only manages engineers or someone who has simply experimented with AI APIs.

We’re looking for a senior hands-on builder who can look at an ambitious product idea and figure out how to architect and build it.

You should be entrepreneurial, highly technical, product-minded, comfortable with ambiguity, and excited about helping build a company—not simply completing assigned development tasks.
