R&D Data Scientist

We are currently hiring a R&D Data Scientist (1 year contract) for a very well known multinational FMCG company located in Elsheikh Zayed, Cairo Egypt.

Role Purpose:

Support the R&D Formulation team in the development, testing, and optimization of product formulations across Personal Care and Oral care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support formulation development activities, including lab trials, weighing, and sample preparation under supervision.
• Assist in raw material evaluations and basic technical comparisons (e.g. surfactants, actives, thickeners).
• Support stability testing, data recording, and result summaries.
• Assist in compiling technical documentation, including formulation summaries and test reports.
• Support trials follow up and basic troubleshooting with guidance from senior formulators.
• Collaborate with Packaging, Regulatory, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams as part of project teams.
• Prepare basic presentations and summaries for internal project reviews.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s student or fresh graduate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in R&D or Quality in plants, fresh grads are welcome with strong internships.
• Excellent command of English.
• Strong interest in product formulation and applied science.
• Analytical and problem solving mindset
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Willingness to learn and work in a lab environment

Learning & Exposure:

• End to end exposure to the formulation development lifecycle.
• Hands on lab experience in a global FMCG R&D setup.
• Understanding of ingredient functionality, formulation tradeoffs, and product performance.
• Mentoring from experienced R&D Formulation professionals.
