Senior Lead PL/SQL Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Lead PL/SQL Developer to join our IT team within the insurance industry. The role will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality Oracle-based applications and database solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to analyze requirements, develop efficient solutions, ensure application reliability, and resolve technical issues across different environments. The role will also provide technical guidance to developers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, test, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL applications.

Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.

Design and optimize database structures, queries, procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.

Participate in data modeling and database design activities.

Develop and integrate RESTful services using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).

Work with Oracle Forms and Reports for application development and maintenance.

Support data integration and ETL activities using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and integration issues across development, testing, and production environments.

Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with approved coding and development standards.

Identify technical risks and recommend appropriate solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Provide technical support and knowledge sharing to junior and mid-level developers.

Ensure proper technical documentation for developed components and solutions.

Required Qualifications

5–7 years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL development.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Excellent knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL development.

Strong understanding of data modeling and database design.

Hands-on experience with Oracle Forms and Reports.

Good knowledge of Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) and RESTful APIs.

Familiarity with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Experience working across multiple environments: Development, Testing/UAT, and Production.

Strong understanding of software development and coding standards.

Good communication and technical documentation skills.

Insurance Industry Experience

Previous experience in the Insurance industry is highly preferred.

Experience working with insurance applications, policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, or customer-related systems is a strong advantage.

Understanding of insurance business processes and data structures is preferred.
