🔵 About the Role

We are looking for a Senior PHP Backend Developer to join a high-impact engineering team and take ownership of building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer who has deep hands-on experience in PHP backend development, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to contribute across the full backend lifecycle — from system design and database optimization to API integrations, performance tuning, deployment support, and technical mentorship.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable backend solutions that support real-world business operations at scale.

🔵 Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems using PHP
• Architect robust backend solutions aligned with product and business requirements
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product teams, and DevOps to deliver complete technical solutions
• Design efficient database schemas and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability
• Manage complex data operations, including migrations and backend data flows
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services and internal systems
• Apply strong security practices including authentication, authorization, input validation, and data protection
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements such as caching and backend optimization
• Ensure code quality through clean architecture, code reviews, and engineering best practices
• Support CI/CD workflows, deployment processes, and production reliability
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and help maintain high system availability
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and contribute to technical excellence across the team

🔵 Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional backend development experience
• Strong hands-on expertise in PHP
• Proven experience with at least one major PHP framework such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalable system design, and design patterns such as SOLID and MVC
• Solid experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Experience working with microservices architecture and backend service integrations
• Advanced knowledge of MySQL or other relational databases, including schema design and query optimization
• Strong experience integrating third-party APIs
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows such as branching, pull requests, and code reviews
• Good understanding of deployment environments, CI/CD practices, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Ability to troubleshoot complex backend and production issues effectively
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within cross-functional teams
• Previous experience mentoring developers or leading backend initiatives is a strong plus
