Role Description The Specification Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Qesm El Maadi, responsible for developing and managing technical specifications for architectural, interior, and building systems projects. This role includes reviewing project drawings and tender documents, identifying suitable materials and systems, and coordinating with trading, manufacturing, and fit-out teams to align specifications with project requirements and budgets.

The Specification

Engineer prepares technical submittals, supports pre-bid and post-award phases, and responds to consultant and client queries. Daily activities involve collaborating with project managers, suppliers, and engineering teams, ensuring compliance with local and international standards, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of architectural finishes, façade systems, interior fit-out materials, and building systems.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing technical specifications, BOQs, and technical submittals for construction projects.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and coordinate with design, procurement, and site teams.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and sustainability principles.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic CAD or related design tools; knowledge of specification software is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Architecture, or a related technical field.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience in project-based environments, preferably in façades, interiors, or high-performance building systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and manage multiple assignments under time constraints.
• Proficiency in English for technical writing and communication; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
