Role Description The Structural BIM & Technical Office Engineer will work full time on-site in Alexandria, Egypt, supporting structural design and documentation for construction projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and managing BIM models, preparing detailed structural drawings and shop drawings, and coordinating with design and site teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements. The role involves reviewing structural calculations, assisting in quantity take-offs, and preparing technical reports and documentation.

The engineer will help resolve design-related issues, support RFIs and submittals, and ensure that all structural information is aligned with project standards and schedules. Collaboration, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality procedures are essential aspects of this position.

Qualifications

Strong skills in structural BIM modeling and coordination using industry-standard software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, or similar).

Proficiency in structural analysis and design tools (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, or equivalent) and understanding of relevant codes and standards.

Experience in preparing construction drawings, shop drawings, and detailed technical documentation for structural works.

Ability to perform quantity take-offs, review structural calculations, and support value engineering activities.

Solid knowledge of construction processes, materials, and typical structural systems used in buildings and infrastructure.

Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary design and site teams.

Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail in technical review and coordination.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a closely related field); membership or eligibility for professional registration is an advantage.

Previous experience in a technical office or BIM-focused structural engineering role, preferably within the construction sector.

Ability to work on-site in Alexandria, Egypt, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines.

Good command of English for technical communication and documentation; proficiency in Arabic is beneficial.
