Associate Programme Officer for TIFM project (phase 2) at International Trade Centre (WTO/UN) (2022-02 – 2024-12)
The Trade and Investment Facilitation Mechanism project (TIFM, phase 2), aims to foster economic ties between the European Union and 8 partner countries of the Mediterranean region (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia).
- Delivered in-field workshops, including technical market analysis and Training of Trainers, in Arabic, English, and French to professionals from governmental and private sector institutions in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Tunisia.
- Customized and implemented capacity-building programmes to address beneficiaries' needs. This involved organising meetings with focal points to identify requirements, tailoring learning materials for workshops, managing logistics, and establishing a clear timeline for implementation.
- Liaised with stakeholders from governmental and non-governmental institutions to facilitate project activities.
- Organised a high-profile closing event for the TIFM II project at the ITC premises in collaboration with the ILO. Responsibilities included facilitating the event, coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure smooth execution, managing logistics to host national stakeholders, and preparing related presentations and materials, among other tasks.
- Support the organization of high-level meetings, such as the annual Steering Committee with project funders and National Focal Point meetings.
- Conducted research using Euromed Trade Helpdesk to produce Quantitative Export Factsheets (QEFs), analyzing export opportunities for national products in specific markets.
- Liaised with the IT team for further development of the Euromed Trade Helpdesk, including liaising between internal teams and external stakeholders for a certified trainers dashboard, including translation in French and Arabic, inserting content through CMS.
- Provided administrative support in accordance with ITC policies, including organizing logistics for workshops, drafting terms of reference for consultants, contacting service providers, and producing workshop certificates.
- Monitored on the project's progress against log frame KPIs, assisting the Project Manager in identifying issues and proposing solutions, and reporting on ITC systems (NPP, event's app…).
- Collaborated with relevant ITC teams to coordinate the implementation of various project activities.
- Carried out communication campaigns to enhance the project's outreach and visibility. This involved organising video interviews with national stakeholders in the field, drafting quarterly newsletters, creating marketing materials (flyers, quotes, notebooks) using Canva, and publishing social media messages across various platforms.
International consultant for GTH & ATO trade intelligence portals (part time) at International Trade Centre (WTO/UN) (2020-02 – 2021-11)
The Global Trade Helpdesk (GTH) and the African Trade Observatory (ATO) are two trade intelligence portals of the Trade and Market Intelligence section (TMI).
- Participated in brainstorming sessions for the design and creation of both portals.
- Identified content gaps in the portals and proposed enhancements.
- Assisted in creating and presenting proposals for the GTH display to the team and Project Manager.
- Coordinated with internal teams, including IT, to implement agreed proposals and monitor progress.
- Conducted research to create portal pages such as FAQs and a Glossary of market analysis terms.
- Drafted FAQs and Glossary pages in Arabic, English, and French for both portals.
- Conducted continuous testing of the portals in three languages, reporting bugs and display issues.
- Supported the Project Manager in creating webinar presentation materials, including practical market analysis examples using the GTH platform.
- Conducted a series of webinars to promote the GTH.
- Provided technical inputs using various Market Analysis Tools to assist the Project Manager in delivering reports and materials on GTH.
- Collected and analyzed user feedback on the ATO portal, identified gaps, and provided recommendations for improvements.
International consultant for trade procedure guides (part time) at International Trade Centre (WTO/UN) (2020-02 – 2021-11)
- Created a template for data collection in accordance with ITC policies and procedures, focusing on the practical steps for export operations, including required licenses, documentation, contact details of relevant institutions, and legal justifications (e.g., related law decrees).
- Collaborated closely with national consultants in Bahrain and Qatar to collect data from various governmental institutions, such as customs and ministries of trade, using the provided template.
- Regularly followed up with national consultants to stay updated on progress, providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Coordinated with internal teams to support the production process of the guides.
Intern - GTH portal at International Trade Centre (WTO/UN) (2019-04 – 2019-10)
- Developing marketing and support materials to increase visibility for the upcoming launch of GTH in Arabic, English, and French.
- Contributing to data collection for publication on the GTH platform, such as contacts of trade promotion organizations in partner countries.
- Translating content into Arabic and French for the launch of GTH.
