Department Overview The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is housed in the Lyles College of Engineering at California State University, Fresno. It enrolls approximately 400 undergraduate and 30 graduate students, offering accredited BS degree programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, and an MS program in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Position Summary The successful applicant will teach core ECE courses and labs in areas including electric circuits, digital and analog electronics, communications, electric power and energy, and related topics. Candidates must be qualified to teach course(s) and/or labs.
Temporary faculty members are responsible for adhering to and implementing university and system-wide policies. Duties include preparation, delivery, conduct, proctoring, grading of lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, class projects, midterms, and finals. Classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester, in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid).
Appointments are contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement. Licensure must be demonstrated; California State University does not sponsor work visas.
Salary ranges are aligned with the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code = 2358 for Academic Year Lecturers). For temporary faculty with a Master’s degree, the monthly salary range is $5,507–$6,677 when teaching full‑time (15 WTUs). Actual salary is adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per term.
Positions are filled as needed based on enrollment and funding. The pool is open for two academic terms; candidates may need to begin teaching on short notice.
Fall 2026: August 19, 2026 – December 22, 2026
Spring 2027: January 15, 2027 – May 26, 2027
Required Qualifications A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, demonstrated through prior teaching experience, evaluations, or evidence.
Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
Expertise in a closely‑related discipline.
