Your Mission at Netquest
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team in Barcelona and help us build, improve, and operate data solutions that support our products and business.
You will work closely with the Team Lead and other engineers, taking ownership of data pipelines and technical initiatives from design through production. We value engineers who are proactive, reliable, and able to independently drive tasks to completion while collaborating effectively with the team.
Our ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with a pragmatic mindset and enjoys solving real-world data problems.
You will join a small, experienced, and highly collaborative data team where every engineer has a visible impact on the product and technical direction.
Technical Stack
We don't expect expertise in every technology below, but experience with most of these or similar areas is highly valued:
- Python
- SQL
- AWS (S3, Athena, Redshift, EMR) or equivalent experience in other cloud platforms
- Apache Airflow or other orchestrator
- Docker
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
- CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar)
Nice to have:
- Dbt
- Apache Spark
- Great Expectations
- Grafana / Prometheus
- Kubernetes
Key Responsibilities
We are especially looking for engineers who:
- Take ownership of problems and drive them to completion
- Can work independently with minimal supervision
- Are comfortable operating production systems
- Care about quality and long-term maintainability
Your daily tasks will be:
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and data products
- Improve existing systems and help modernize our data platform
- Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and other engineers
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Contribute to improving engineering practices and standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
