Junior Interface Developer

Tech Pipeline specializes in smoothing out the friction in business systems for our partners. Our partner is a leading organization currently seeking help to clean up their internal routing and data transfers, ensuring their operations teams can work without getting bogged down by manual workarounds. This Junior Interface Developer position is a full-time, fully remote role focused on building and maintaining the connections that keep business data moving correctly.

About the role Most companies have tools that do not talk to each other properly. As a Junior Interface Developer, you will help us bridge these gaps. You will not be looking at high-level strategy or abstract diagrams.

Instead, you will look at the actual data points. You will find out why a specific record did not sync, why a status update failed to mirror across platforms, and how to fix the logic so it does not happen again. This role is about precision and finding the source of truth within a messy technical environment.

You will work alongside our senior team to build out the intermediate maps and scripts that connect different databases and applications. Because we are a remote company, you will manage your tasks through clear documentation and direct communication with the rest of the team.

What you will be doing

• Reviewing error logs to identify exactly where data transfers between systems are failing.
• Writing and updating basic scripts to map data fields from one system to another accurately.
• Testing webhooks and API endpoints to ensure they are returning the expected information for the operations team.
• Documenting the routing rules for new interfaces so client operators can manage them later without our help.
• Checking daily reconciliation reports to ensure balances and records match across various platforms.
• Cleaning up outdated configurations in legacy tools that are creating unnecessary backlogs for the finance team.
• Collaborating with operations teams to understand the real-world friction they face with their current interfaces.

What we need from you

• Basic familiarity with a programming or scripting language, such as JavaScript or Python, through projects or coursework.
• A clear understanding of how data moves between systems, including exposure to JSON or CSV formats.
• Strong attention to detail and an interest in tracing a problem back to its root cause in the logs.
• The ability to write clear and concise documentation for technical and non-technical readers.
• A logical approach to troubleshooting where you test assumptions one by one to find a solution.
• Comfort working in a fully remote environment where clear written updates are our main form of contact.
• A desire to learn how business processes work from the ground up by looking at the data itself.

Helpful background

• Exposure to basic SQL queries for checking database records and verifying data integrity.
• Previous experience with API testing tools or similar web technologies during internships or personal projects.
• An interest in business operations, logistics, or finance systems and how they handle high volumes of data.
