Lab Engineer - Hardware/Software PC Support, Licensing, Microsoft - On-site, Madrid, Spain (Rec[...]

A large integral organisation is seeking a Lab Engineer to support and administer laboratory IT environments. Responsibilities include managing laptop and desktop hardware, configuring/maintaining lab PCs, managing licenses and ensuring reliable network, backup & printing services.

This will be an initial 6-12 months+ contract with the opportunity for multiple extensions.

This position will be based on-site full time in Madrid, Spain.

Key Skills/Responsibilities

• Solid experience working with recent and latest OS platforms (Microsoft and Linux/IOS a plus)
• Manage hardware inventory Laptops and Desktop Systems
• Troubleshoot and repair hardware/software issues
• Provide support for laboratory printing issues
• Configure, install, patch compile and manage licenses for PCs within laboratories
• Work with external vendors and organisation owners to resolve problems with lab systems
• Ensure network and backup needs of end users are being met related to lab PC connectivity
• Document IT procedures for internal use
• Decommissioning
• Proven xsgfvud experience building, replacing and researching Win10
• Monitor ServiceNow queue and address lab incidents locally supported
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools such as Excel, Word and Teamsite for tracking and reporting purposes
• Previous exposure to laboratory instrumentation such as Chromatography Data Systems, Mass Spec and Empower a plus
