Lead Full Stack Software Engineer

Role Summary
We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across the design, development, deployment, and operation of modern cloud-native applications.
This role combines hands-on software engineering with technical leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will lead architecture and implementation efforts across frontend, backend,
cloud, and platform domains while partnering closely with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and
Engineering leadership teams.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience building distributed systems using Node.js,
TypeScript, React, Next.js, AWS, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD practices. They are comfortable driving technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and leading the delivery of scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Lead technical design and architecture discussions for complex business initiatives.
- Design scalable, maintainable, and resilient solutions across frontend, backend, cloud,
and platform layers.
- Establish engineering standards, development patterns, and best practices across teams.
- Drive architectural decisions balancing business needs, technical debt, scalability,
security, and operational excellence.
- Review solution designs and code to ensure consistency, quality, and maintainability.
- Partner with architects, product leaders, and engineering management on technical roadmaps and strategic initiatives.
- Lead technical discovery, estimation, and implementation planning for large-scale initiatives.
Backend & API Development
- Design, build, and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Develop RESTful APIs and service-to-service integrations within microservices architectures.
- Design and implement GraphQL APIs using Apollo Server and Apollo Client
Design and evolve MongoDB schemas to support scalable and evolving business requirements.
- Implement robust validation, security controls, logging, monitoring, and observability practices.
- Design and implement synchronous and event-driven integration patterns where appropriate.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across distributed systems.
Frontend Development
- Lead development of modern web applications using React and Next.js.
- Apply appropriate rendering strategies including SSR, SSG, and client-side rendering.
- Collaborate with UX and Product teams to deliver intuitive, responsive, and accessible user experiences.
- Integrate frontend applications with backend services and cloud-native APIs.
- Drive frontend performance, accessibility, and maintainability standards
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience leading technical initiatives, projects, or engineering teams.
- Expert-level experience with:
o Node.js o TypeScript o React o Next.js o MongoDB
- Experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs using Apollo Server and Apollo
Client.
- Strong experience designing, building, and operating microservices in production environments.
- Strong AWS experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
o Kubernetes o Docker o CI/CD pipeline implementation and support
- Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and operating applications in Kubernetes environments.
- Experience building and maintaining automated build, testing, and deployment pipelines.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, security, and software delivery practices.
- Experience leading architecture discussions and technical design efforts.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and elevate engineering standards.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
Experience with AWS services such as:
o API Gateway o DynamoDB o S3
o RDS o ECS/EKS o CloudWatch
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions such as:
o Terraform o CloudFormation
- Experience with observability and monitoring platforms including:
o OpenTelemetry o New Relic
- Experience designing event-driven architectures.
- Experience supporting high-volume, customer-facing applications.
- Experience working within large enterprise organizations.
- Experience leading distributed or globally dispersed engineering teams
