Amazon Web Services (AWS) is developing cutting‑edge Machine Learning accelerators, including the Inferentia chip for inference and Trainium for training at scale. These accelerators run on the AWS Neuron Software Development Kit (SDK), which compiles models from popular frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and MXNet into code that runs on custom hardware. The Neuron team works across silicon, software, and operations to deliver the highest‑performance deep‑learning compilers.
We are seeking a Machine Learning Compiler Engineer II to design, implement, and scale a deep‑learning compiler for the world's largest ML workloads. The engineer will architect critical features, publish research, collaborate with AWS ML services teams, and participate in pre‑silicon design and new product launches.
3+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship)
2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems, focusing on reliability and scalability
Proficiency in at least one programming language
3+ years of experience across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent (or equivalent professional experience)
Background in Machine Learning and AI accelerators (preferred but not required)
USA, CA, Cupertino – $165,200.00 – $223,600.00 USD annually. The compensation package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
