In this role you will
Support the Financial Controller in ensuring that the assets and liabilities of the company are properly recorded and appropriately controlled. This is a 1-year maternity cover contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly PL analysis for all entities for review with the Financial Controller.
- Review and post monthly operating expenditure accruals, ensuring team members pay invoices on a timely basis.
- Prepare and post regular monthly journals including management fee, accruals, and prepayments.
- Ensure timely accrual, payment, and filing of all local & statutory requirements, including corporate tax and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit National Statistics forms.
- Monitor intercompany postings, prepare reconciliations at month‑end, and support the intercompany team.
- Prepare, file, and reconcile quarterly VAT returns.
- Prepare MIS for US tax return and quarterly advance tax payments.
- Handle all accounting and reporting compliance for all entities under the Europe / NAM region (once not covered above).
- Monitor and improve data flows into the accounting system with the IT team, including analysis control.
- Review automated FX calculations.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review monthly overhead costs and ensure all costs are in the correct business unit.
- Assist with the monthly RADE process by investigating queries and preparing adjusting journals.
- Open all mail received and delegate it to the responsible person, including filing.
- Cash cheques in the bank, process details in the accounting system, and inform the responsible person.
- Assist with intercompany reconciliations – intercompany account maintenance and reconciliation, posting of recharges, issuing recharge invoices.
- Continually review and improve processes.
- Act as the main coordinator for external and internal audit.
- Assist with year‑end audit requests and queries.
- Assist with any other ad hoc requests and project work as required.

- Preferably Qualified / Part qualified ACCA.
- Degree educated.
- Strong numeracy.
- Work responsibly and take ownership of tasks handled.
- Experience working in an international business and accounting in multiple currencies.
- Solid working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Good understanding of accounts software (Sun Systems and SAP/S4 Hana).
- Working towards a professional accounting qualification (not mandatory).
- Experience working as part of a team and also able to take ownership of specific issues.
- Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Well organised, highly accurate and with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines.
