At ING we are looking for a Non-Financial Risk Specialist to join our Non-Financial Risk Team in Spain.
You will report to the Head of NFR and contribute to the transformation of ING’s processes and controls into a Digital Bank.
Responsibilities
- Be a trusted NFR advisor towards IT and Business management.
- Support, challenge and monitor NFR risk management processes and quality.
- Participate in and challenge risk assessments on key strategic projects and programmes.
- Support the Business and IT management on issue identification, risk rating assessment, action definition and follow‑up until issue resolution.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance and roll‑out of the NFR Frameworks, Policies, Minimum Standards and Procedures.
- Perform quality assurance or deep‑dive reviews as part of second line monitoring.
- Identify external and internal developments, initiatives, and threats and translate them into the risk strategy.
- Monitor the design and effectiveness of controls.
- Contribute to the impact assessment and coordination of responses to law and regulatory changes, ECB reports, and monitor follow‑up of regulatory issue resolution.
- Support the Head of NFR with research, assess the risk profile of the organisation and report to Senior Management.
- Generate awareness related to risk management within the organisation.
- Develop and maintain training modules and train the IT and business community.
Qualifications
- Approximately 5 years of experience as a NFR specialist.
- University degree or equivalent.
- Professional education and multiple international risk‑management certifications.
- Insight into digital banking, related processes, IT applications and regulations, especially in business banking.
- Experience in end‑to‑end process analysis to identify and assess NFR risks, including root‑cause analysis.
- Expertise in testing methodologies.
- Collaboration skills and ability to work across functions and countries.
- Sound risk criteria: ability to be firm when needed and flexible when possible.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Soft skills: pro‑activeness, initiative, communication, influence, persuasiveness and assertiveness.
