Responsibilities
- Program and commission PLC and SCADA, adapting machine functionality to project specifications.
- Resolve and diagnose system faults in factory and at customer sites.
- Provide remote technical support for global install base.
- Support FAT and CAT testing.
- Lead start‑ups at customer sites, debug all machine functionalities.
- Provide customer training.
- Generate manuals and technical documentation.
- Inform management on technical status of projects.
- Report incident resolutions to build a database for future reference.
- Assist product development teams with assembly process tools or technical strategies.
- Manage incidents and provide client feedback.
- Support Vanderlande subsystem integration.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology (e.g., Electronics, Mechatronics, or Software).
- 3–5 years of experience in material handling, automation, or a related industry.
- Knowledge of TIA Portal, WinCC SCADA, etc.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
- Electrical knowledge for validation, fault detection, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with EU and US electrical and safety norms.
- Experience with frequency inverters, HMI and related products.
- Field experience with machine installation, start‑up, commissioning, and service.
- Direct experience programming PLC-controlled systems, including safety designs, motor protection, control, and industrial communication/networks (ASiBus, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Profinet).
- Excellent reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Field engineering experience on site.
- Experience with Linux.
- Customer-facing experience.
- Affinity with computer science.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the specialist PAX team responsible for deployment and 3rd-level support of our systems. Support can be remote or onsite, with travel at 50–60% of the time, offering exposure to different countries and cultures. When not traveling, you will work in the factory in Santpedor supporting the service manager, factory/engineering teams, and various projects or test scenarios. You will be the go-to person for 3rd-line support.

Travel and Working Location
Travel 50–60% of the time, primarily in Europe but potentially worldwide. Remaining time based at Santpedor factory with flexible schedule, 60% home – 40% factory when tasks allow.
