Job Title

Sustainable development of bituminous mixtures manufactured with the addition of recycled plastic (BIMIPLASTIC)

Purpose of Contract

Investigation of the behavior of asphalt mixtures and other materials for road pavements. Collaborator on activities related to the project/agreement stated.

Job Location and Schedule

Roads Laboratory (School of Civil Engineering) and CITEEC from Monday to Friday from 8:00 hours to 15:00 hours

Responsibilities

  • Plan laboratory tests typical of road engineering, in particular those oriented to the investigation of the mechanical behavior of bituminous mixtures and other materials for road pavements or other transport infrastructures.
  • Interpret and analyse data obtained in the tests and prepare the final reports.
  • Carry out tasks in the Road Laboratory of the E.T.S.I. de Caminos, Canales y Puertos of the Universidade da Coruña during the working day, as well as in the Laboratory of Roads and Geotechnics of the CITEEC.
  • Work Monday to Friday from 8:00 hours to 15:00 hours.

Qualifications / Eligibility Criteria

  • Degree in the Technology of the Civil Engineering and Degree in Engineering of Public Works.
  • Certificate of competence in Galician Language: Celga 4.
  • Work experience in the laboratory of bituminous mixes and in technical research projects related to the utilisation of wastes in bituminous mixes.
  • Experience in execution of dynamic tests of bituminous mixes: resilient modulus, cyclic compression test, and fatigue tests (up to 2.5 points).
  • Experience in rheological test of asphaltic bitumen by means of the Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) (up to 2.5 points).
  • Personal interview to assess motivation and interest in the project.

Selection Process

  • Selection committee evaluates scores based on eligibility criteria and interview.
  • Top 3 candidates with highest score after adding interview score (min 1-5 points) proceed to interview.
  • Minimum score required to be on waiting list is 5 points, excluding interview score.
