The role
We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale our backend systems. Someone who takes ownership of complex projects, delivers high-quality code, and contributes to technical decisions while remaining deeply hands-on.
This is a hands-on role at its core, focused on building, shipping, and evolving systems that operate at scale.
You'll work closely with other engineers, product managers, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable, performant, and maintainable solutions.
What you'll do
- Build and scale backend systems in Python/Django
- Contribute to backend architecture in a microservices and event-driven environment
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure and security teams to deploy, monitor, and operate services in production
- Own projects end-to-end, from design to production
- Leverage AI tools to improve development speed and code quality
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through collaboration, code reviews, and technical guidance

What we're looking for
- Senior backend engineer with 5+ years of backend experience
- Proven experience building and scaling production systems in startups, scale-ups, or fast-moving environments
- Strong expertise in Python and Django
- Familiarity with AWS and modern cloud-native environments, with the ability to design and operate backend services in production
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL (queries, performance, schema design)
- Able to debug production issues across the stack
- Strong focus on code quality, performance, and reliability
- Comfortable using or eager to adopt AI tools in your workflow
- Strong communication skills in English
- Humble, ambitious, reliable and pragmatic
