Senior Java Developer

Role Description The Senior Java Developer role at Setexe is a full-time, remote position responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Java-based applications and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing complex features using Java and the Spring Framework, building and optimizing microservices architectures, and integrating with internal and external APIs. The person in this role will review code, provide technical guidance to other developers, and ensure adherence to best practices, performance, and security standards.

They will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and QA engineers to refine requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reliable, scalable solutions. This role also involves contributing to architectural decisions, improving development processes, and participating in code reviews and agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java and general Programming concepts (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms).
• Hands-on experience in Software Development for complex, production-grade applications, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Practical expertise with the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security) for building enterprise applications.
• Experience designing and implementing Microservices architectures, including RESTful services, inter-service communication, and scalability patterns.
• Comfort with modern development practices and tools (Git, CI/CD pipelines, unit and integration testing, code review processes).
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code and to debug and optimize performance issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative, agile environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and relational/non-relational databases is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and willingness to mentor junior team members.
