Job Description: An opportunity for a Material Services Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Material Services & Customer Services Team, specifically supporting the LTA and MRTT Programmes perimeter. Our mission is to lead and secure Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) and In-Service Support contracts, ensuring the seamless delivery of spares, repairs, and material support to our global customers.
Operating as a critical link, the team bridges the gap between Material Services Centres of Competence, Regional Directors, and Program Management to ensure all activities align with Time, Cost, and Quality targets. *RESPONSIBILITIES*The main tasks of the jobholder will be:
Lead and manage Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) and In-Service Support contracts, ensuring full compliance with material support requirements (spares and repairs) for portfolio customers.
Act as the primary interface between Customer Services Regional Directors and Material Services, ensuring clear reporting, alignment of strategies, and governance representation across programmes.
Coordinate and drive execution within Material Services Centres of Competence (Operations, Planning, Logistics Engineering) to secure on-time delivery, Entry Into Service (EIS) support, and milestone achievements.
Steer financial performance and cost evolution for the Material Services perimeter, managing budgets, operating plans, and cost-reduction initiatives to meet EBIT and revenue commitments.
Establish proactive End-to-End risk management and issue resolution processes, escalating critical roadblocks and implementing recovery plans with top management.
Ensure business integrity and compliance across all contract perimeters, proactively identifying non-compliance risks to protect the company's reputation and sustained growth. University degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Industrial), Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Experience: Proven experience in Programme Management, Material Support, Logistics, or Customer Services Contract Management within the aerospace industry.
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills, proactive problem-solving mindset, high commitment to integrity/compliance, and excellent synthesis capabilities for executive reporting.
Advanced level in English.
Deep understanding of Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) contracts, spares and repairs management, risk mitigation workflows, and financial tracking (budgets/expenditure).
Knowledge of LTA/MRTT programmes, experience collaborating with local teams at Military Air Bases, or experience in Lean Services/Continuous Improvement projects. Take a look at some of our social benefits:
