Part‑time contract (20h/week) at the CASE Department of BSC.

Mission The Wave Phenomena group conducts R&D on earthquake and tsunami hazards. This internship trains a highly motivated student in earthquake and tsunami simulation, specifically analysing the impact of source models on hazard predictions.
Setup and comparison of different seismic rupture models for a variety of scenarios.
Numerical simulation of earthquake and tsunami waves: setup, execution, and analysis.
Report on findings through documentation and a final oral presentation.
– Ongoing studies (third year or higher) in a (marine‑)geohazards related degree.
Essential knowledge and professional experience
– Basic scientific programming (e.g., Matlab or Python); previous internship experience, especially in international settings, is highly valued; participation in wave experiments (laboratory or simulated) is highly favored.
Additional knowledge and professional experience
– Fluency in English.
– Ability to work independently and within a team; strong communication skills; outstanding motivation.
Conditions The position will be located at BSC within the CASE Department.
Part‑time contract (20h/week) with flexible working hours, extensive training plan, private health insurance, and support for relocation procedures.
Duration: linked to the educational agreement.
Salary: a competitive salary commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience, according to the cost of living in Barcelona.
