Deborah Almada

Chemical Engineer and PhD researcher with hands-on experience in Horizon Europe projects, supporting project planning, deadline monitoring, preparation of deliverables for the European Commission and coordination with international consortium partners. • Contributed to national and EU-funded research projects within a research group focused on green innovation, supporting technical tasks, results reporting and project documentation.
• Doctoral research on sustainable biorefinery systems, biomass valorisation and energy system optimisation, including techno-economic assessment (Aspen Plus) and LCA (SimaPro).
• Dissemination of results: co-authored peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals and presented research at international conferences.

HSE Engineer and Environmental Consultant at Technic Services (2021-04 – 2022-03)

• Led health, safety and environmental activities across two operational sites, coordinating multidisciplinary teams of 20+ people.
• Supervised field activities to ensure regulatory compliance, including risk analysis and incident reporting in oil and gas and industrial waste operations.
• Promoted environmental awareness and adherence to HSE procedures across teams.
