Ivan Gonzalez

Project manager at the research institute IdiPAZ, at the University Hospital La Paz. I recently completed a M.Sc. Bioinformatics and I graduated from the B.Sc. Biomedical Engineering at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). I did a stay abroad as an exchange student at KU Leuven, Belgium, taking courses of the M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering. One-year experience at GSK as support in the Operational Excellence department.

My interests are located on the biomedical field.

PROJECT MANAGER

IdiPAZ – University Hospital La Paz, Madrid, Spain/ April 2023- present

Innovation Project Manager at the Research institute IdiPAZ from the University Hospital La Paz. In this position, I help researchers in:

• Preparation of Technological Surveillance reports, freedom of operation reports, searches in the state of the art and, ultimately, addressing intellectual property inquiries of a scientific-technical nature raised by the promoters.
• Support in the preparation and review of the organization's research, development and innovation projects.
• Search and promotion of business relationships in the healthcare sector.

Additionally, I contribute as a Bioinformatician, working on the identification of genetic biomarkers associated with lung cancer.

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE SUPPORT

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Madrid, Spain/ March 2022- March 2023

Support of the Lean Six Sigma department at GSK. Play important roles in:

• Data collection and analysis of the production of the factory (on Power BI and Excel).
• Development of new tools to obtain relevant data.
• Process standardization.
• Problem solving of the main limitations related to the production of drugs.

COLLABORATOR STUDENT

Centre for Biomedical Technology (CTB), Madrid, Spain/ September 2021- January 2022

Stay at the Bioinstrumentation and Nanomedicine Laboratory (LBN), which served as a complement to my B.Sc. thesis, I focused on developing and optimizing a methodology for studying cancer treatment utilizing nanoparticle-induced magnetomechanical damage and magnetic hyperthermia techniques.

Obtained a Master's degree in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, specializing in gathering and analyzing biological and medical data. Successfully completed a thesis project on computationally simulating protein docking in the presence of mutations.
