Jenna Helders

I have had the opportunity to gain valuable experience working as a teaching assistant and language assistant over the past year and a half, honing my skills and developing a passion for promoting holistic development among young individuals. My practical, adaptable, and creative approach to teaching has been put to the test during my current position as an English teacher at a school in Barcelona, Spain. My experiences working with children of diverse ages, languages, and subjects in both South Africa and Spain have given me a unique understanding of how to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

I have gained valuable experience over the last two years, as well as during my studies. Each year we were required to do a nine week practical at a school. In 2021, I worked at a primary school in South Africa for a month during my last year of studies. In 2022, the same school employed me as an assistant. I worked there till August 2021. As of September 2022, I have been working at a school in Barcelona, Spain as a language assistant. My current job includes working with different language groups and levels, as well as experiencing the culture of Spain.

My most recent academic training took place from 2018-2021 where I completed my Foundation Phase Education Degree at Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa.
