Java Software Engineer

We're looking for experienced Java Developers to join CGI's team working with business-critical systems. This is not a traditional project-based development role—instead, you'll be involved throughout the entire application lifecycle, from development and testing to production support and continuous improvements.

For this position, you will be employed through Clevry. The start date is flexible and will be agreed upon once the right candidate has been found, preferably during August 2026. What you'll be doing

As a Java Developer, you'll play a key role in maintaining, developing and improving business-critical applications. You'll collaborate with experienced colleagues and business stakeholders to ensure stable, secure and high-quality solutions.

Your responsibilities will include

Developing backend applications using Java and Spring Boot

Designing, implementing and maintaining REST APIs and integrations

Maintaining and enhancing production systems

Investigating and resolving production incidents and technical issues

Writing and maintaining unit, integration and API tests

Contributing to test automation and continuous improvements

Working closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Supporting the full software lifecycle in a continuous services environment We're looking for someone with To succeed in this role, you have experience working with production environments where quality, stability and long-term maintainability are essential.

You have

Strong experience with Java backend development

Experience with Spring and/or Spring Boot

Experience developing REST APIs

Good SQL skills (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle or similar)

Experience working with integrations

Experience maintaining business-critical production systems

Experience with production support, incident management or problem management

Experience writing unit, integration and API tests as part of the development process

Fluent Finnish language skills It's a plus if you also have experience with

Test automation, especially Robot Framework

JUnit, Mockito or similar testing frameworks

Spring Batch or batch processing

CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps

Docker and Kubernetes

Splunk or other monitoring tools

Financial services, banking, insurance, pension or other business-critical industries

Payment, billing or transaction processing systems We believe you'll thrive in this role if you have experience with

Java and Spring Boot backend development

Integration-heavy environments

Long-term ownership of production systems

Troubleshooting production incidents

Application Management Services (AMS)

Batch processing

Testing and test automation

Close collaboration with business stakeholders
