Role Description This full-time Java Software Engineer role is based in Rouen and offered as a hybrid position, combining on-site collaboration with the flexibility to work from home part of the time.

The Java Software

Engineer will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable software solutions that support government and enterprise clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and testing Java-based applications and microservices, collaborating with cross-functional teams on requirements and architecture, and integrating systems with existing client platforms. The role involves using Spring Framework and related tools, writing clean and maintainable code, participating in code reviews, and troubleshooting issues in production and pre-production environments. The engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement efforts, documentation, and adherence to best practices in security, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong Software Development skills, including experience with design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of enterprise applications.
• Proficiency in Java and core Programming concepts (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms).
• Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework and related ecosystems (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security).
• Knowledge of Microservices architectures, API design (REST), and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL; experience with ORM tools is a plus.
• Comfort with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices.
• Ability to work in hybrid teams, communicate clearly, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in secure coding practices and knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or similar) is advantageous.
• Professional proficiency in English; additional European languages are beneficial for international collaboration.
