Java Software Engineer

Job Title: Java Full Stack Developer – Onsite Application Support & Enhancement

Location: Bourougne, France (Fully Onsite, 5 days per week)

Job Type: Contract ( €225 per day)

Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated Java Full Stack Developer to provide dedicated onsite support and continuous enhancement for a critical business application in Bourougne, France.

This hands-on role combines daily end-user ticket resolution, proactive application improvements, and close collaboration with French-speaking stakeholders. You will work in the European time zone and partner with teams in India while delivering clean, scalable code and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Acquire deep technical and functional knowledge of the supported business application.
• Resolve application tickets and issues for France-based end users promptly and effectively.
• Enhance and develop the business application to meet evolving business and user needs.
• Collaborate daily with India-based teams using clear, professional business English.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following industry best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance and scalability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation initiatives where applicable.
• Prepare and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
• Proactively identify and propose continuous improvements that deliver real business value.
• Coordinate effectively with French-speaking stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates.
• Prepare and participate in status reports and regular team meetings.
• Work primarily in the European time zone (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CET). Occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required in rare cases of major outages or business-critical situations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of proven, hands-on experience with SQL (PostgreSQL strongly preferred; other SQL databases accepted).
• Strong advantage: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer in the Java technology stack.
• Exposure to Angular (or strong willingness and ability to quickly learn Angular UI development).
• Minimum 2 years of practical AWS experience, including hosting web applications and using core AWS services.
• Fluent communication in both French and English (written and verbal) with a strong customer-centric mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new skills, processes, and tools rapidly.
• Solid technical understanding of the products, services, or ecosystem supported by the application.

Additional Information

• Working Hours: Primarily Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CET (onsite in Bourougne).
• Contract Type: Day-rate contract with a maximum rate of €225 per day (depending on experience).
