About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data & AI Engineer to join our AI & Data Analytics team. This leadership role involves guiding multiple teams through technical excellence while designing and evolving cloud-native applications on AWS.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing scalable, secure, and resilient AWS systems, as well as creating full-stack applications using Python and Java. This role requires a blend of operational development, system design, architectural decision-making, and mentorship, working closely with technical management, product teams, and platform teams to define and implement long-term technical strategies. The position offers an exciting opportunity to influence both product and technical roadmaps, contribute to innovative data solutions, and drive best practices in engineering within a dynamic international environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (preferred)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering and software development
- 2 to 4 years of experience in developing and maintaining production data applications
- Proven expertise with relational and analytical databases
- Experience working with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.) for 2 to 4 years
- Hands-on experience with Big Data platforms such as Spark, BigQuery, and AWS S3
- Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow, Luigi, or Azure Data Factory
- Knowledge of real-time pipeline design and data quality validation
- Proficiency in API design and development
- Technical skills in Python and Java programming languages
- Understanding of streaming architectures and event-driven systems (Kafka, Flink)
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform (preferred)
- Experience with Databricks (preferred)
- Cloud certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient AWS cloud systems tailored to project needs
- Develop full-stack applications leveraging Python and Java for backend services
- Establish and enforce engineering standards and best practices across teams
- Lead architectural decisions regarding compute, storage, networking, and security components
- Create and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven services to support various applications
- Collaborate with front-end teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal user experience
- Conduct code and architecture reviews, providing valuable technical feedback
- Resolve complex production incidents through root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Contribute to defining project roadmaps and influence product and technical strategies
- Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines, ensuring data quality and consistency
- Manage and evolve databases, including data modeling, data stores, and multidimensional architectures
- Develop and maintain ETL processes and data services, including real-time pipelines
- Support teams in API design, data modeling, and service conception
- Promote a culture of engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively within an international environment
