Elias Akiki

Having initially studied and practiced architecture for more than 4 years, I decided in 2020 to pursue my passion in design and innovation, and so I undertook a master’s program in Visual and Experience Design at the University of Applied Sciences Europe, in Berlin. The accumulation of both backgrounds gave me a more human centered design approach and the capacity to cater for the specificities of targeted groups. Having taken courses like Urbanism, Envisioning and Design, has enabled me to develop an understanding of practice and real-life situations through working with local authorities and stakeholders, while also understanding design in relation to cultural diversity and equity in meeting social needs, in terms of accessibility, spatial patterns and behavioral norms.

I believe that being enthusiastic, having a strong character and being efficient especially during stressful situations is a strong suit that I will personally harness in this position. I am also a strong believer in personal initiative to grow and expand my familiarity in the field; I am undertaking independent courses that will enrich my information and curate the curiosity I have for this domain. My main objective is to discover new horizons and opportunities and increase my knowledge by exchanging ideas between teammates.

Having an experience in architecture and being involved in subjects such as the blockchain (my recent start-up experience) and NFTs (web3 platforms), mental health, E-sports, autonomous vehicles and many more, I welcome this new milestone with the confidence that I would be an added value and a great fit.

UX-UI Designer - STYLE Protocol (March 2022 - September 2022)

STYLE Protocol is an ecosystem that brings utility to NFTs by bridging them into the metaverse.

• Created the website for the ecosystem as well as an MVP for it.
• Managed to cater for different user scenarios (from NFT owners, to 3D artists and Metaverses).
• Participated in NFT gatherings in order to better understand user needs.
• Conducted meetings with lead metaverse and data analysts to improve user journey, in addition to regular meetings with blockchain developer, frontend and backend developers
• Learned more about the blockchain and NFT sphere while integrating user journeys into the platform.
• Created a venue in metaverse and acquired knowledge about front end coding.
