I’m Quentin, currently looking for an investor relation position within a private equity or a venture capital fund.
But why this change after a path through investment banking following my studies and then a switch into the tech environment at a sales position?
My career started in investment banking and M&A (Rothschild, Lazard, Avolta), where I supported tech entrepreneurs in fundraising and growth transactions. These experiences taught me how to quickly understand a business model, thrive in fast-paced environments, and engage with C-level executives - for which I am very grateful.
Over time, however, I realized that what motivated me the most was not only the financial aspect, but complementary skills to those already acquired in finance such as the client relationship, strategic prospecting as well as building tailored solutions. That’s what led me to pivot toward B2B sales in tech at Corma.
Looking back, I would say that I have been able to learn a lot from these various experiences but above all, I realised deep down, how working in a financial environment, what I am good at, is essential to my personal fulfilment.
This is why I am today convinced that a role in investor relation, where I will be able to combine my M&A experience and sales exposure would be very relevant, as a strong financial grounding and the ability to build relationships is for me the key of success in this role.
