Sophie Kearney

I’m a 23 year old graduate from Ireland looking to relocate and further my career. I am an English native speaker and have a B1/B2 level of French fluency, still learning French consistently. I am essentially looking to further my career in an area that interests me and that is somewhat related to my backgrounds in business,

law or taxation.

Whilst my degree was based around the two core principles of law and taxation, it is awarded as a bachelor of business and so my knowledge varies over these three different areas. This along with the experience I have gained in my current role, working as a supply chain specialist for an international marketplace, has provided me with a considerable insight into the workings of the corporate world.

I’m a very passionate team member, and take huge pride in my work and view this as a significant responsibility of mine. I enjoy learning new things in a fast-paced environment and enjoy sharing my knowledge and collaborating with co-workers. I’m a highly motivated person who is open to new opportunities and learning experiences and would prove myself to be a valuable member of any workforce.

I would be thoroughly grateful to be considered for any opportunity of experience that would further my career and encourage me to engage with others. I would appreciate any experience that would provide me with the opportunity to gain an insight into the professional domain, either relating to my areas of knowledge or something brand new.

Verizon, Limerick– Supply Chain Specialist (May 2024 – Present)

I work full-time as a supply chain specialist in Verizon’s newest branch in Limerick. I thoroughly enjoy my work here - my role aids me in understanding the business processes and logistics of a company’s performance. Verizon is a large scale American company with over 100,000 employees. Most of those at manager level and above being entitled to a work phone/device. My role entails the provision of these devices to

Verizon’s customers, who are our internal employees.

I oversee the supply and demand levels in collaboration with my colleagues and make requests to make the necessary changes to our stock. A daily task would be to upload an inventory report from SAP to highlight any stock shortages. I am also responsible for manually shipping orders and using different tools such as SAP and SQL on a daily basis.

We deal with a large customer base, and so my role also involves communicating directly with our clients to ensure a high standard of customer service experience.

Liston Family Law Solicitors, Limerick – January 2024 – March 2024)

After graduating from university I volunteered as an administrative assistant briefly in Liston Family Law. I found this to be an enriching experience and appreciated being able to apply my knowledge from my studies to the working world. My main role here was filing and archiving documents and learning client case files and familiarizing myself with the areas of law in which were relevant to their case.

Technological University of the Shannon, Limerick (2019 – 2023)

In 2023 I graduated with a Bachelor of Business (Honours) degree in law and taxation. My Bachelors degree was divided between two core principles – law and taxation – under the umbrella of business studies.
