Managing Job Applications
2026-02-282 min read
Overview
Every application you receive lands in a centralized queue tied to the job listing. From there you can review profiles, compare candidates, and move each applicant through your hiring pipeline.
Accessing Applications
- Go to your Recruiter Dashboard.
- Click on any active job listing.
- Select the Applications tab to see everyone who has applied.
Application Statuses
Each application can be set to one of three statuses:
- Pending -- The default state. The candidate is waiting for your review.
- Shortlisted -- You are interested and want to evaluate further. The candidate is notified that they have been shortlisted.
- Accepted -- You want to move forward with this candidate. They receive a notification and you can continue the conversation via BeBee messaging.
- Rejected -- The candidate is not a fit for this role. They receive a polite notification.
Reviewing a Candidate
Click on any applicant to view:
- Profile summary -- headline, location, seniority, and skills.
- Work experience and education.
- Portfolio or attached documents (if provided).
- AI match score -- BeBee's assessment of how well the candidate fits your job requirements.
Best Practices
- Respond promptly. Candidates who hear back within 48 hours are far more likely to stay engaged.
- Use Shortlist generously. It keeps strong candidates visible while you finish reviewing the full pool.
- Send a message when you accept. A personal note explaining next steps makes a strong first impression.
- Check your dashboard regularly. The Pending Review counter on your recruiter dashboard shows how many applications still need attention.
